Glazing Techniques – Individual & Pairs

Glazing is where a piece truly comes to life and this class gives you the knowledge and techniques to make it your own. This isn't a glaze chemistry lesson; it's a practical, creative session focused on helping you understand and use commercial glazes and underglazes to achieve the results you're after.

• Duration: 90 minutes
• Individual: £70 | Pairs: £120
• Available Wednesday–Friday, 12pm–6:30pm
• 2 bisque pieces provided per person

What You'll Learn

We'll start with the materials: glazes, underglazes, resists, and mediums, so you understand what you're working with. From there, we'll explore how fluxes and layering can be combined to create depth and unexpected results, and cover best practices for preparing your bisque surface before any glaze goes on.

You'll get hands-on experience with brush application and dipping, and I'll share some of my own techniques that I've developed to achieve my signature style.

By the end of the session, you'll have two glazed pieces ready for firing and a solid foundation for decorating your own work with confidence.

Bisque Pieces Classes include a mug and bowl to glaze. If you'd prefer to work on something different, such as tiles, plates, or other forms, just let me know at least 2 weeks in advance and we can arrange alternatives.
